Zambia begin their Africa Cup of Nations campaign with orders from President Rupiah Banda that they "must win" the competition after missing out on the World Cup.

Tunisia will also be absent this summer, but the 2004 champions will be confident going into this game as favourites.

But shock upsets in opening games have left coach Faouzi Benzarti conscious of complacency.

"There are no bad teams," he said.

"As we have seen the first games are very difficult, even if Zambia are classed as 'outsiders'."

The former Tunisian international was drafted in to replace Humberto Coelho after his side lost out to Nigeria in World Cup qualifying.

His team go into the game on the back of a surprise 2-1 loss to Gambia in a warm-up match, with their only goal coming from striker Amine Chermiti in the fourth minute of injury time.

The side's chances took a set back pre-tournament when two players were ruled out.

Fahid Ben Khalfallah, who plays in France for Valenciennes, turned down the chance to play - but did not explain why - while striker Youssef Mouihbi is out with a thigh injury.

Nothing less than success was demanded by the Zambia president after meeting the squad before the tournament.

"You must ensure that you win the trophy this time around," he told the players.

"We have a better chance to win than ever before because the coach Herve Renard has managed to round up many players who play in South Africa and Europe."

Renard gained considerable experience as Ghana's assistant coach under Claude Le Roy in 2008, as well as a brief spell in England with Cambridge United.

Captain Christopher Katongo will be hoping to regain his scoring touch after only finding the net once during Nations Cup qualifying - one of only four goals scored by the Zambians in 10 games.
